Asheville Cinema Festival

November 1-4, 2012
The Asheville Cinema Festival (replacing, but not related to the former Asheville Film Festival) presents 40 films with a mix of feature-length movies and shorts. Downtown Asheville viewing venues will be Asheville Community Theatre, the Masonic Temple theater and Lexington Avenue Brewery’s back performance room. Opening and closing night events are at the Biltmore Grande cinema at Biltmore Park in south Asheville.

There will be 20 filmmakers and subjects of the films that will do a Q&A with the audience after their film plays.

The Asheville Cinema Society (ACS) was formed with the aim to inspire, enhance awareness of, and support new and seasoned independent filmmakers. The carefully selected motion pictures include not yet released films or films that would not otherwise be shown in the Asheville area. Special guests of each film such as the director, producer, or actors are at the screening to provide insight into the making of the film. They answer questions immediately after the screening as well as talk with ACS Members at a reception following. Film Screenings occur on two Tuesdays per month at the Regal Biltmore Grande Stadium in Biltmore Park.
